Year 11 Revision Timetable

Attention Year 11 Geographers!

Below is your revision timetable for the rest of the year. 
Each week you will be given a topic from the GCSE to revise. Each week has four tasks to choose from and you must complete at least three of the tasks from the list. You must always complete the exam question. 

Any problems, please see Mrs Melton or Mrs Hinde-Taylor. The timetable will always be stuck to the classroom doors and you have been given a hard copy too. If you lose yours, an electronic copy can be found here.

Year 11 PPE Information

Year 11 Geographers!

November PPEs are upon us and so it's worth reminding you of the two papers and what's required. 

Paper 2: Challenges in the Human Environment- Wednesday 6th November PM
Section A- Urban Issues and Challenges (Urbanisation, megacities, Rio, Bristol, Freiburg)
Section B- The Changing Economic World (Measuing development, the development gap, Nigeria, UK's changing economy)
Section C- Resources (only general questions as this topic is mostly still to teach)


Paper 1: Living with the Physical Environment- Wednesday 13th November PM
-Section A- Challenge of Natural Hazards (Tectonic Hazards, Tropical Storms, Climate Change, Extreme Weather in the UK)
-Section B- Living World (shortened as we are currently teaching ecosystems)
-Section C- Physical Landscapes in the UK ( Coasts and Rivers)

You need to make sure that you use the knowledge organisers, PLCS and revision guides effectively to revise for these important exams.

Year 11 Easter Geography Revision

Dear Lovely Geographers!

Please remember that I am running the Geography revision on Friday 12th April between 9am and 12pm. We will be covering rivers and case studies. 

It would be great to see as many of you there as possible.

You also have TWO exam questions to complete for homework over Easter:
1) Using a named example, discuss the impacts of rain forest clearance' (6 marks)
2) Evaluate the success of a coastal management plan that you have studied (9 marks)

Year 11 Geographers- Pre-Release Info

Dear Lovely Geographers,

The pre-release this year is on rainforests, deforestation and a proposed road through the Peruvian Amazon. 

If you fancy doing a bit of wider reading around the subject then the following news articles may be of use: 
It is also going to be super important that you attend the revision session on rainforests running week beginning the first of April and complete the tasks for that week. 
It's a smashing topic to have the pre-release on, we're hopeful that the paper is going to be a good one for you all.
