Indonesian Tsunami 2018

Attention all GCSE Geographers! (especially Year 9)

If you have had an eagle eye on the news this last weekend, you cannot fail to have seen the news about the Indonesian earthquake and tsunami. As we study tectonic hazards, this event is great for illustrating the different impacts of this hazard in an LIC.

Brilliant BBC Programmes!

Attention all GCSE Geographers!!
There have been two fantastic BBC programs on this last week that are worthy of your screen time.

Firstly, Drowning in Plastic on BBC 1 on Monday 1st October at 8:30pm- a great insight into how waste plastic is impacting our planet. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0bmbn47

Secondly, for the human Geographers, on BBC 2 on Sunday 30th September there was a documentary on the geographical factors that led up to the Grenfell Tower disaster. Dealing with inequality, migration and gentrification, Before Grenfell: A Hidden History is a powerful and shocking insight into how a tower block in one of London's wealthiest boroughs (Kensington and Chelsea) went up in flames. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b6q2sh

Give them a watch and let us know what you think!
